Consultation with Other Professionals
Sometimes parents and children have needs that cannot
be met by our instruction alone. To make progress,
the child may require medical treatment, a more
in-depth diagnosis, or special services in the school.
When this is the case, the staff at The Cyzner Institute meets with
the parents to discuss appropriate recommendations
and referrals.
If a child is already seeing another professional,
such as a neurologist, speech therapist or occupational
therapist, we communicate periodically with that
professional to discuss how we may best support
the child’s and family’s other endeavors.
Motor and Social Skills Group
Children participate in specific small group activities
that develop their fine motor, gross motor and social
skills. Parents may also enroll siblings so they
can enjoy some time off from the busy job of parenting.
Weekly Parent and Child Playgroup
Once a week, parents and their children attend a
one-hour networking and play group. Trained facilitators
lead everyone in guided play, modeling activities
and group discussion.
Parent Coaching
Parents receive one-on-one coaching to learn how
to help their children develop specific skills.
This unique service makes working with your child
at home easier and more fulfilling. It also adds
value to the time you spend together as a family.
